Plantain is wonderful for skin. It is also said to soothe insect bites. You mash the plantain leaf and put some of its juice on the insect bite, or nettle sting, and it relieves the pain.

Plantain grows as groups of thick leaves that are shaped like a beaver's tail, clumped together low to the ground, with a stamen rod standing out in the middle with fuzzy things at the tips.
