Refuse to Retreat Conference
Greetings sisters and brothers,
Under the BC Liberals, the attack on all unemployed poor and working poor has intensified. The Liberals' new wave of assault is the 2-year welfare time limit. We believe the real time limit is on our compliance with this government, and it's that time that is up!
The Anti-Poverty Committee, who has been struggling tooth and nail against this government from the get-go, requests your participation in our two-day 'Refuse to Retreat' conference being held February 21-22, 2004.
For the two days there will be a series of workshops that focus on our organizations' fight to defeat this government. The organizations invited to attend are those who have refused to retreat and continue to mobilize in our communities and workplaces.
We are requesting that a representative from your organization attend these two days of workshops and strategy sessions. There will be workshops about anti-imperialism, indigenous sovereignty, immigrant and refugee rights, women's liberation, the labour movement and the welfare fight back. Throughout the conference the theme will be that of unifying our struggles in order to fight back against our oppressors and win!
We hope this conference will assist us all in strengthening our solidarity with one another and will inspire us to intensify our struggle to the level needed to defeat this government and create a peoples' movement that will join with struggles around the world to destroy imperialism.

Please respond by February 6, 2004 so that we can confirm our schedule. We are also asking any organization financially able to, to make a donation to help us cover costs such as dinner and child-care
