Committees and Individuals Involved

Hierarchy of the Development

Long Range Development Plan Committee

convened in Fall 2003 to update the campus' 1988 LRDP and to decide on the campus' development until the year 2020—including the defining of building programs and land-use maps.

Strategic Futures Committee

The committee was appointed in 2003 and was given the task of legitimizing the campus’ desire for growth (i.e. “articulating the academic rationale and principles associated with growth”). They are the ones responsible for deciding on future enrollment goals that shape the LRDP. They also decided upon what buildings and infrastructure would then be needed for this growth. Their “final report” was made public in June of 2004 and came with a suggestion that the committee’s role not end there, but continue on to instruct the University on growth issues.
