The latest in the slash-and-bash social policy of the BC Liberals is aimed at - big surprise - education. Campbell's promising to raise tuition fees from the current rates - some of the lowest in the country - to synthesize them with some of the highest.

High tuition fees will not mean better quality, however. Tuition fees in Alberta and Ontario are much higher than BC, yet experience has shown that students aren't the ones who reap the benefits of increased tuition.

Studies show that higher tuition fees drive people out of school or further into debt.
