A day of action including a march, street theater and non-violent direct action. A day to commemorate the 8 hour working day and to show support for the workers rights. Organized by The Vancouver Coalition Against Corporate Globalization.
Women for Women in Afghanistan
Zohra Rasekh of Physician for Human Rights speak of her experiences and work in Afghanistan. A presentation assessing the impact of war and Taliban rule on the Health and social well-being of women in Afghanistan, involving interviews from over 200 women in Pakistan Refugee camps and in Kabul, Afghanistan. An evening banquet, presentation and live music. Tickets are $50.00 each. All proceeds got directly to relief work and providing education in Afghanistan. Contact for information: 926-3566.
