Tile backed water fountains are hidden all through Camarillo State Mental Hospital. We still do not know the history of these tiles, nor do we know what will become of them over time, but we have taken the time to photograph every one of them we have stumbled upon. Here are some pictures of these tiles...some of them still have their water fountains attached but most of them are now defunct with pipes coming out of the tiles...A book about Camarillo's history including photos of the tile fountains is expected to be available within the next month, stay tuned.
